Pete the Cat I love My white shoes

A mindful children’s lesson and activity based on the book Pete the Cat.

Everything is groovy! Pete doesn’t let anything bring him down, not even when he gets his brand new white shoes dirty. Enjoy this fun book and the mindful lesson plan for you and your family!

I’ve also included some traditional learning ideas for you and your family!

Math: Adding and subtracting Pete’s button bracelet. What a fun way to learn about adding, subtracting and colors! Head over to Coffee Cups and Crayons for the activity.

Art: Pete the cat masks are a great way to showcase your child’s inner artist. Color or paint these masks, cut them out and have your children read Pete the Cat with their masks on, they can even put on a play for you and your family.

Reading: Here is a fun printable book for your emerging reader Pete’s buttons book will allow your child to practice fluency and High frequency words.

Social Emotional Growth: Oh no! My white shoes are dirty! There will be days when you’ll fall or step in mud but it will be alright when we name the emotion (sad, mad, annoyed, frustrated) and take a deep breath. Ask a parent, grown up or friend for help and you’ll see that it’s all good and in no time you’ll feel calm and ready to solve the problem.
